The Library of Lachoo Memorial College of Science and Technology, Jodhpur was established in 1965. Apart from main library, college has departmental libraries also. The collection of the library which includes books, journals reports and educational CD’s is regarded as one of the richest collection in the field of Science, Computer, Management, Commerce and Pharmacy, Physiotherapy in the state. The Library regularly subscribes print Journals and Magazines along with Hindi and English Newspaper. In addition, more then 6500 e-journals and 750000 e-books are accessible online with ten computers available in the digital section of the library through Inflibnet, Nlist and DELNET Consortium.  Presently the Library holds over 45,000 books 1300 CD’s and 2000 Reports on various subjects.

Computerization of Library

The library has been fully computerized by using SOUL 3.0 library software. It is state-of-the-art integrated library management software designed and developed by INFLIBNET with the help of UGC. It is user-friendly software developed to work under client-server environment. The software is compliant to international standards for bibliographic format, networking and circulation protocol.

Book-Bank

The Book-bank mainly consists of text books prescribed in UG & PG syllabi. This Book Bank is to help meritorious students belonging to the economically weaker sections of society. Two books are issued to students selected on the merit cum need basis for the complete session/semester.

Special Deposit Scheme of Book Bank

Students may also get extra books issued from the library by depositing the actual cost of latest edition of the book as security to the librarian. The money so deposited will be refunded by the central office as and when student returns the book and submit original receipt with no dues to the central office. To avail this facility students are required to fill the membership form with the full details of books so needed.

Book Bank for Students Academic Council Members

Two students from each subject group of every section securing highest marks in previous examination are nominated as members of Student Academic Council. The nominated members get three books of their choice for the complete session. If any book so desired is not available it is immediately ordered and issued to the member as soon as it is received in the Library. This membership card may also be issued during the entire session to exchange these books with other books available in the Book- Bank.
